The free information sessions throughout the year offer education about obesity and its related health risks, detailed information about weight loss surgery options, an opportunity to meet our surgeons and members of the bariatric team and talk with an insurance specialist. Former patients are often on hand to describe their experiences. These sessions are mandatory for anyone considering weight loss surgery. Family members and friends are welcome to attend.

Cara is a HCPC Registered Dietitian, specialising in obesity management and sports nutrition. She is passionate about using nutrition to help people achieve their health and weight loss along with enhancing sports performance. Cara gained a first class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Strathclyde University and followed this with post graduate diplomas in Dietetics and most recently, Sports Nutrition.
Your coaching programme will then begin with a 2 hour Fast-Start session. This session is designed to really get your coaching programme off to a powerful start and put some of the foundations in place that you will build on going forwards. During this session you will delve deeper into what it is you want to achieve and clarify your vision and the initial focus of the programme, design how you’re going to work with your coach to get maximum benefit from your sessions, complete some initial exercises and any necessary paperwork and agreements.
Dr Lisa Gatenby, MSc; PhD is a Registered Nutritionist, with a PhD in Nutrient intakes and a Masters of Medical Science in Human Nutrition. She is a Registered Nutritionist, approved by the Association for Nutrition (who control the UK voluntary register of Nutritionists). Dr Gatenby started her career with a love of food and worked as a chef for 5 years followed by food development for 4 years before progressing into nutrition. Dr Gatenby has been working in Nutrition for the last 10 years and as well as offering consultancy services works in Public Health, she delivers lectures at various universities. Dr Gatenby helps people meet their goals whilst enjoying tasty and satisfying food.
You will lose weight quickly and consistently, probably much faster than on any other diet you have tried. We aim for a monthly loss of up to one and a half stone for our patients. Weight loss on Alevere Therapy is predictable so you will know how much weight you are expected to lose each week and how long it should take you to reach your target weight.
