Part of my work in clinic is to identity and address the root cause which is responsible for the symptoms a client is experiencing. The most common underlying condition I see is unbalanced hormones. Once I noticed that balancing hormones leads to the reduction of so many other symptoms, I knew I had to create a simple plan to help people understand and support their hormones.

Obesity results from interactive influences of biological, physiological, psycho-social, behavioural and environmental factors. With such a multifactorial aetiology, prevention of weight gain, weight loss and weight maintenance is less than straightforward. Whilst the energy equation (calories consumed = calories expended +/- calories stored as body fat or glycogen) holds true, food choice is highly complex. As such, interventions that only address factors at the individual level, and do not take into account the social and environmental influences mentioned above, are unlikely to be successful.
You cannot spot reduce! Weight loss results from an energy deficit; burning more calories than you take in. Aerobic exercise will help create this energy deficit. Genetics and gender play a role in where we store excess fat and where it comes off first. Abdominal exercises will tighten and tone the abdominals but will not directly affect the layer of abdominal adipose.
Most nonsurgical weight loss programs are based on a combination of diet, behavior modification and regular exercise. Unfortunately, even the most effective interventions don't work for everyone. It's estimated that less than 5 percent of individuals who participate in nonsurgical weight loss programs will lose a significant amount of weight and maintain that loss for an extended period of time.
Once it is established that you would be medically suitable and that you are completely happy to proceed with the treatment the doctor will advise you of our low fat, low sugar diet programme and will discuss other courses of treatment that can help you manage your weight. You would then come back at regular intervals for your progress to be monitored by the doctor.
However, if you are one of the increasing numbers of people who don’t cook at all, this makes it much harder to be successful on the plan.  You need to be prepared to dedicate some time to buying groceries, food preparation and some basic cookery.  Yes you can use ready cooked salmon and lentils or bags of ready prepared veg but I would worry about your ability to stick with the plan over the longer term in this case.
Weight-loss programs typically have a monthly fee and may charge for packaged food or drink supplements, from $18 a month for the least expensive online plan, to more than $700 monthly. Food delivery programs featuring fresh food cost more. The cost of medically supervised weight-loss programs varies upon the services offered. Health insurance companies may cover some or all of your costs if you have weight-related health conditions such as heart disease, hypertension or diabetes.

For anyone that contacts me who is interested in the plan I always suggest arranging a phone call to discuss it in further detail.  It is important for you to find out a bit more about it from me and it is also important for me to find out a bit more about you.  This helps me judge whether it is right for you and your lifestyle. I just don’t see the point in persuading someone to do it if it isn’t a good fit.   I also suggest that we meet face to face to show you a copy of the plan so that you are 100% clear on how it works before you commit.
Lastly, you enter the Wellness Phase when you have met your goal weight. Monthly visits help to keep you on track with your long-term weight maintenance plan, and additional testing and supplements may be suggested. During this phase, the dieter moves to a 40/30/30 eating plan where 40 percent of calories consumed come from carbohydrates, 30 percent come from fats and 30 percent come from protein.

The IRS will allow people who are diagnosed by a physician as being obese to deduct the costs of the services in this program. The revenue ruling, IR 2002-19, approves the fees related to services (i.e. medical services and nutrition education meetings) when they are occurring for medically valid reasons. A person must be under the guidance of a physician in order to qualify. The ruling does not cover the cost for foods or Meal Replacements, which people would have to pay for regardless of their weight. If you are interested in using Medi Weightloss to slim down, you should live near one of the company’s clinics. After an initial meeting with a doctor, dieters usually agree to weekly in-person meetings for the duration of the weight loss process. This weekly check-in is a cornerstone of the program, so proximity is essential. Clinics are located in 25 states and in most major US cities.
YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Secondly, our nutritional approach uses a method that has been shown to be much more user friendly than counting calories (calories on food packaging can be out by up to 25%!) and doesn’t rely on weighing every morsel of food that passes your lips. Our nutritional approach is about achieving optimal health while gradually increasing the quantity of food you are allowed while supporting muscle growth and fat loss. This is important as the industry ‘standard’ approach is to restrict/decrease food as time goes on which leads to muscle breakdown and a lower metabolism – both of which are disastrous as far as fat loss is concerned.
