Obesity results from interactive influences of biological, physiological, psycho-social, behavioural and environmental factors. With such a multifactorial aetiology, prevention of weight gain, weight loss and weight maintenance is less than straightforward. Whilst the energy equation (calories consumed = calories expended +/- calories stored as body fat or glycogen) holds true, food choice is highly complex. As such, interventions that only address factors at the individual level, and do not take into account the social and environmental influences mentioned above, are unlikely to be successful.

I was looking at knee replacement surgery. I was unable to get in the floor to play with my granddaughter. I went to Ageless Medical Weight Loss and MedSpa to do something about my weight. Four months later, I had lost 92 pounds and 92 inches. I am now able to run for enjoyment and chase my granddaughter for countless hours. This program restored my life and I am able to be more active.
The risk of an early death for an obese person is twice that of a non-obese person, according to recent studies. Morbid obesity can cause life-threatening health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Weight loss surgery decreases your chance for these and other conditions, including sleep apnea, gastric reflux, asthma, arthritis and migraines. Evidence suggests that weight loss also lowers the risk of some cancers that are increased with morbid obesity, including breast, endometrial, colon and prostate cancers.
The blood test looks at standard blood parameters, this includes liver function, thyroid, glucose, inflammation markers, cholesterol, red and white blood cells, etc.  This can therefore provide a great tool to track progress.  I often see inflammation markers reduce, glucose regulation improve, cholesterol levels lower. Note: It is not a blood test that looks at “food allergy”
When it comes to overcoming weight problems, psychotherapies can help. It can increase one’s body-image, as well as improving motivation and confidence in being successful to achieve weight loss goals. Treatment can also help individuals find more effective coping strategies rather than binge-eating and provide the individual with a stress management kit.

Want to improve your self-esteem? Plastic surgery is a great way to reduce any excess skin and fat left behind after major weight loss. Its goal is to restore more perfect proportions. If you have experienced dramatic weight loss from bariatric surgery or diet and exercise, you’ll be able to get rid of loose skin so you can fit into your clothes better, in addition to getting rid of overhanging skin that might be causing painful chafing, rashes, and infections. If you have sagging skin in multiple areas, including the face, neck, breasts, arms, abdomen, back and thighs, then this program of procedures may be just right for you.

When it comes to dieting and exercise, there is a lot of talk of ‘willpower’. This can backfire and make a person feel bad about them. For example, a person that has tried to unsuccessfully lose weight over and over again will end up feeling they have no willpower or are lazy. With a bit of careful thought, one can see why such an assumption is irrational. How can a person that has tried dieting over and over again be lazy? In the same way, people that talk about willpower tend to have an extreme and radical view of dieting and exercise, and their militant approach to weight loss might not apply to everyone.
For example, many health experts suggest that dieters who receive regular face-to-face counseling are more likely to stick to a weight loss plan long enough to see results. But other studies have shown that remote counseling can provide the same benefit. And there are also some studies that support a ketogenic diet for weight loss. There are other studies, however, (and medical professionals) that have found ketogenic diets too restrictive and therefore not effective for losing weight and keeping the pounds off for good.

There are many variables and factors in the complex world of health insurance. Most providers have so many different plans that we cannot give general advice to our patients. We will provide you with a “super bill” for your insurance company. This is signed by our physician with proper coding and any other requirements. You can then submit the bill to your Insurance Carrier for reimbursement. Although we do not see any monies ourselves, we do know that over 50% of our patients do get reimbursed for medical fees.
