Rigorously structured: you will be given super clear guidelines on what you can and cannot eat. Rules to stick to (3 meals no snacking, 5 hour gap between meals, no oil / fat for the first two weeks, etc etc). A detailed meal structure that will show exactly how many grams of food you should eat at each meal (yes that means using a scale to weigh your food).
During the first phase, also called the Acute Weight Loss phase, you will eat primarily protein foods to get your body into ketosis. Calorie counts during this stage may be low. There are several media reports and reviews from patients stating that they were given daily goals in the 500-800 range. According to the company, those claims are not true:
The Family Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing a variety of professional medical services including administering physical examinations, annual physicals, managing chronic diseases including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, prescribing medications, ordering films, and reviewing diagnostic tests if medically necessary.
Patients who come to the weight loss program at Portsmouth are tested for a range of health concerns—liver and kidney function, diabetes, stomach ulcers, gallbladder problems, hypertension and other issues. Beyond this, they receive psychological assessments and are educated about behavior modification, physical therapy and nutrition. Patients proceeding with the program are required to lose a percent of their body weight through diet and exercise.
I first came to Ageless Medical Weight at the end of April. At first I was skeptical about the dramatic results I had seen on TV. I had tried everything and did not know if the program would work for me. I had constantly struggled to keep my weight off after doing those fad diets. It was always a short term goal to a look time problem. Nothing worked until I came to Ageless Medical Weight Loss and MedSpa. They did not quick fix the weight issue they fixed they weight issue. And it was easy. Ageless reprogrammed my body and my mind. This program gave me a whole new approach to life. A healthy life!

The way we do this is through metabolic resistance training that is designed to increase lean muscle tissue (which is metabolically active). One of the biggest myths we hear is that women don’t want to ‘bulk up’ but the opposite will happen with this type of training. Muscle takes up less space than fat (per unit of weight) and so adding muscle will lead to a decrease in fat as metabolism is elevated. We also end each session with metabolic afterburner’s – exercises that are designed to keep metabolism elevated for 24-36 hours after each session.
Weight-loss programs typically have a monthly fee and may charge for packaged food or drink supplements, from $18 a month for the least expensive online plan, to more than $700 monthly. Food delivery programs featuring fresh food cost more. The cost of medically supervised weight-loss programs varies upon the services offered. Health insurance companies may cover some or all of your costs if you have weight-related health conditions such as heart disease, hypertension or diabetes.
Phase 4: Maintenance: most people start this phase at week 12, though it does depend on how much weight you have to lose. During this phase I work with you to make the programme become a long term way of life. I show you how you can gradually expand your food list and explain which foods you should you should keep in moderation. You will end up in a place where you will instinctively know how to stay in balance.
There are many variables and factors in the complex world of health insurance. Most providers have so many different plans that we cannot give general advice to our patients. We will provide you with a “super bill” for your insurance company. This is signed by our physician with proper coding and any other requirements. You can then submit the bill to your Insurance Carrier for reimbursement. Although we do not see any monies ourselves, we do know that over 50% of our patients do get reimbursed for medical fees.
For example, many health experts suggest that dieters who receive regular face-to-face counseling are more likely to stick to a weight loss plan long enough to see results. But other studies have shown that remote counseling can provide the same benefit. And there are also some studies that support a ketogenic diet for weight loss. There are other studies, however, (and medical professionals) that have found ketogenic diets too restrictive and therefore not effective for losing weight and keeping the pounds off for good.
